I was not completely happy with the Virtual Skin shade I recieved a sample
of, it looked a bit too orangey on my skin. So, I went to another
Prescriptives counter in my area to look and ended up buying Exact Color
Makeup #2+ in Extra Light Warm. I do type out as a blue/red, but felt very
strongly that a yellow based foundation would be better for me than a
pinkish one. The Prescriptives rep worked with me, and recommended a
foundation that I felt much more comfortable with. However, I may switch
to their #1 makeup in the summer, as I do have combination skin that
changes with the seasons. This is one of the very few lines that carry
foundations light enough for my skin. My Laura Mercier concealer should be
coming any day now, and I can't wait to try this makeup with it.

With a purchase of two lipsticks from some of the cosmetic lines,
Nordstrom's is giving away a small Japonesque-like container for lipstick
portions (a great way to empty out those MAC tubes when you're nearing
that magic number of 6 to get a free lipstick and carry around a bunch of
colors), so I bought two Pop Art Sticks from Prescriptives (the
black/white and the brown/beige). Haven't tried them yet though, because
I've been wearing the MAC Hyper that I got for free (after I scraped out
two tubes into my new container!)
Even better (it may be difficult to believe that there's something better
than free MAC lipstick), I got a $90 credit from Nordstrom's for an outfit
that I bought recently and then found had been marked down for the
half-yearly sale! (Does anyone else think that this was a particularly
good half-yearly sale, more like the Anniversary Sale was until this July
when it wasn't very good?) Lori

I went to Target today, intent on finding Jane's Haywire. Unfortunately,
they were all out! They were also out of their new brow shapers. :( I
was tempted to buy Jane's Flashes mascara, but I have so many GWP mascaras,
I resisted. ;) To console myself, I bought Pro10's Fugitive (a Vamp
knockoff) and trial sizes of Jane's oil-free foundation in bisque and in
beige.
Still searching for Haywire,

Well, this weekend, I bought these this weekend on my trip to San Fran!
Too short, but lovely (78 degrees!). I bought MAC Del Rio (kinda drying
on me, is this normal???) and the best shoes ever; a pair of hush puppies
loafers (suede) in a beautiful sky blue with white piping and blue laces.
I love these shoes! They make me so cheery! Of course had to wear them
right away, and luckily I'd brought some blue items (that day -- the first
day of the conference I attended -- I wore my blue suede shoes -- tee hee
