Okay, it's 3:00 p.m., time for my afternoon ritual of a cuppa tea and a I'm working on a dress, KwikSew #2435, that has a scoop neck and waistline darts in the front and back. I am going to cut out the bodice front neckline and armholes as a medium to account for my shallow chest. The rest of the pattern is a large. My question is, is the waistline dart anchored to the bust point or the waistline? You said that soft-tip dart boards are "stupid" then apologize? Yes, soft tip darts are good quality. I throw 16gm bottlesen (sp?) GT's. I can also put my hammerhead tips in them. I've modified them slightly by putting on shafts that are a bit longer than stock. Black Widow soft tip darts are also now available. That seems to be a major complaint about soft-tip boards. Yes, soft tip darts are good quality. I throw 16gm bottlesen (sp?) GT's. I
can also put my hammerhead tips in them. I've modified them slightly by
putting on shafts that are a bit longer than stock. Black Widow soft tip
darts are also now available.

Dart Shafts
I have a set of Black Widows that I have only thrown with for about a month (22 gram moving point), and for the second time in about three weeks I have had a shaft (Alamo) snap off so that just the threads are left in the dart. The last time it happened I just went to the local dart shop and they took it out for me. I didn't think it was going to happen again so soon so I didn't ask about a tool that removes broken shafts. For those of you who throw with moving point widows (or Voks) - How often does this happen? I would hate to snap a shaft in a match and not be ... (more)

Hi all, I'm glad to see the traffic increase here. My question is this, what brand or type of dart do you throw and why? In steel darts I throw a 28gm Hammerhead with a long shaft and standard shaped nylon flights. I just purchased a set of hammer head darts and although I am very satisfied, the points keep unscrewing from the barrel even after I tighten them with a wrench. Someone recommended using a dab of clear nail polish on the threads. Anyone have any recommendations? Also, will the threads on the inside of the barrel get stripped over time if the point is lose upon impact with the dart board...? ... (more)

I like to throw at least 60 points. Anything better than 60, for me, is "good darts". There is a lady on my team who averages in the 20's, so when she hits more than 40, I give her a high-five... and her next throw is usually a triple something!! :) Frame of mind weighs greatly on my game, so I try to keep my team in good spirits by complimenting the great throws and "laugh off" the bad ones. What REALLY gets me down is when the other team gets grumpy... throwing ... (more)
