Hi all,
I'm glad to see the traffic increase here. My question is this, what
brand or type of dart do you throw and why?
In steel darts I throw a 28gm Hammerhead with a long shaft and standard
shaped nylon flights.
In plastic I throw a very narrow 16gm dart made by the Buck knife
company, with a medium lenght shaft and vortex flights.

Hi,

I remember reading some years ago that longer stems provided a straighter,
more balanced flight-path for your dart - and I have always played with
them. Watching the PDC this week, one thing I have noticed is that, Taylor,
Mardle and a few others aside, the majority were throwing with short stems -
some of them so short that the flight was almost touching the barrel. ... (more)

I've tried to find some explanation on the Web of what the various
styles of flights do to or for the flight of the dart -- anybody know
if such explanations exist or are the various flights more marketing

I've seen it mentioned that the best all round length for stems is
"Medium", and the best shape for flights is "Standard". By best
I assume they mean stability, balance, consistency etc.

I have to use Short stems stop the back of the dart catching my face
when throwing, so I doubt I can make a go of trying Medium stems, and
I'm stuck with them. ... (more)
