Old Charm Bracelets
message from Karen C - California on 2000/06/09
Because back in the days when I was using a manual typewriter, I broke a number
of bracelets when they got tangled in the keys.

Because when I switched to a computer, I found my heavier bracelets added extra
letters I didn't want.

Because I work on a keyboard all day, and it's just too much hassle to remember
to put a bracelet back on when I'm through with work for the day.

Finished 2/24/2000 - Sweet 16 (Silver Lining)
WIP:Twins Sampler, Holiday Snowglobe, Teen Creed, California Sampler, America
the Beautiful (Nimble Needle), antique green doll (Vervaco)

I'm sorry you have trouble there. My charms aren't heavy enough to add
letters, thankfully, as I work on a computer all day too.

Hi Guys,
I any of you do add your charm bracelet charms to needlework and are afraid
they will tarnish the stitching, just put a coat of clear nail polish on them
before stitching them to the fabric! Works great & most of us haveclear nail
polish around the house -- if not it is very easy to find. I make sure I
have a supply of straight pins of some sort and a "holder" (something to stick
them into) before I start. Put the pin thru the round hanger thingie of the
charm, "paint" the charm and then stick the pin into the "holder". I usually
have a piece of heavy corrugated cardboard that I let hang over the end of the
table & that is what I stick my stuff into. Usually need to sit something on
the cardboard so that it doesn't fall off the table. CiaoMeow >^;;^<
