Celtic Brooches (by Stonewall Van Wie III on 1995/12/22, 5 replies)
Can anyone give me a source for celtic brooches? I have looked at the online
catalogues on the Current Middle Ages homepage and found nothing.

My Lady and I have recently decided to take the plunge and join SCA (after
almost 25 years of intending to do so. We are trying to gather together our
garb by purchase, inasmuch as we have not chosen personae yet.

Liquid Sculpey Jade (by DBuck26803 on 1997/11/09, 2 replies)
Hi All,
I love it when a mistake turns out to be a good find. I got too heavy handed
on an ancient bronze patina and found that it makes a rather nice jade. If you
want the surface to look matte and old, a sparse stippling of two shades of LS
and perm. green oil paint over a dark metalic gray base, does the job. If you
use a more generous amount, the colors merge a bit and look like jade. Since
the LS is self leveling, it can be sanded with 1200 grit paper and buffed to a
rich gloss. ... (more)
pennsic merchant problem (by Lord Wolfger Silberbär on 1997/11/22, 1 reply)
My lady ordered two celtic brooches from a merchant at Pennsic this
year, and paid for them in advance. Now she cannot find her reciept, and
has not recieved the brooches. Worse yet, she can't even remember the
name of the merchant. The check was made out to Fred Farmer. If anybody
can put us in touch with this merchant, it would be greatly appreciated.

PC Bathroom Tile !? (by Ben David on 1998/07/27, 2 replies)
Hi all,

I have been asked by a neighbor if I can create decorative strips to be
used with ceramic bathroom tile (at last - equality and integration with
the "real" clay world :-). I need to make flat strips and corner pieces.
The effect desired is a solid color with an embossed pattern, with some
washing or antiquing in a darker color to bring out the pattern. ... (more)
PC outside (by kk on 1998/07/29, 6 replies)
I know that several of us have done experiments over the years and have found
that polymer clay is better for artistic than practical purposes; that is,
static items indoors fare better than functional items like outdoor flowerpots,
patio tabletops, etc., outdoors. Fading was a uniform occurrence, but I think
there was varying degrees dependent on length of time, strength of light rays,
and so on.

I don't know if anyone has done any serious experiments with the use of ... (more)
